Choosing Your Plastic Surgeon in Carson City, NV

There are a number of reasons to consider plastic surgery, often (but not always) Plastic Surgery Carson City seated in a dissatisfaction with one body part or another. Breast augmentation with implants is a regular atop the list of most popular cosmetic procedures in the United States each year, but would obviously be of little use to a woman suffering from neck and back pain caused by excessively large breasts. What might not be so obvious is whether a woman considering implants would be better served by a breast lift. A face lift can take years off of your appearance, but what if a less extensive procedure such as blepharoplasty (an eyelid lift) could produce similar results? Liposuction might not be a viable weight loss method, but can be pretty useful in targeting uncooperative fat deposits.

Consulting with a qualified surgeon helps to find the answers to these and other questions like them. Carson City plastic surgeon Dr. Kent Gabriel is guided by a commitment to a "therapeutic alliance" with his patients throughout lengthy and informative pre-operative contacts to help you make the best decision for your self, as well as his surgical techniques and on-going post-operative care. If you've been thinking about breast reduction, perhaps you should consider your breast reduction in Carson City, NV.

Male Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, CA

Los Angeles breast surgery is not just about women seeking better proportions to their figure. While it's true that Male Plastic Surgery doctors like Los Angeles plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven Teitelbaum, do provide a full range of breast surgery to women, increasing, decreasing, lifting and more, there is also breast reduction for men to consider.

Defined by Mirriam-Webster Online as "excessive development of the breast in the male," gynecomastia is actually quite normal. Statistically, in fact, a man is much more likely to develop gynecomastia than not. Frequently it resolves itself, but when "man-boobs" don't go away on their own, they still need not be permanent. Just as Dr. Teitelbaum treats women who are dissatisfied with their breasts, gynecomastia is quite treatable. Men might not think of themselves as likely candidates for plastic surgery, but male plastic surgery isn't limited to moobs. While you see Dr. Teitelbaum as your gynecomastia surgeon, there may be additional procedures from which you might benefit.

Body Contouring Surgery Like Abdominoplasty And Lipoplasty Are Performed To Create A Better Contour

A lipoplasty procedure is performed to remove localized areas of fat that surround the abdomen, upper arms, buttocks, hips, thighs, neck, calves, and knees. Patients who receive liposuction surgery are typically looking to improve the contours of their figure - both out of and in clothing. The cosmetic surgery procedure itself is performed with a thin metal tube that is called a cannula. This tube is inserted underneath the patient's skin and is used to vacuum fat away from specific irregular contours on one's body.

Following A Liposuction Procedure, Most Patients Have Very Little Pain

Before you receive a liposuction procedure, your plastic surgeon will carefully outline the areas of bulging fat that are to be suctioned. He or she will then draw detailed contour lines in order to further define the contour and shape characteristics of the deposits of fat. Plastic surgeons will use the "tumescent technique" in which a large amount of fluid will be initially placed to swell the area. This technique will allow for fat to be removed in a very smooth, safe, and symmetrical manner. The fluid is able to help loosen the fat while providing a local anesthesia for operative and immediate post-operative discomfort. It will also be able to provide epinephrine which is capable of decreasing bleeding.

Liposuction is very safe when done by an experienced plastic surgeon and it often goes very well with other procedures like abdominoplasty, facelift surgery, body lifts, arm lifts or Breast Reduction and breast lift surgeries.

For anyone looking to learn more about this procedure here is a page I found that should be very useful in teaching more about Liposuction.

A Compression Garment Will Be Recommended By Your Plastic Surgeon After Lipoplasty

After liposuction surgery, the patient will be able to go home with a compression garment that covers the areas that have been treated. Compression of the areas where liposuction has been performed is recommended for about a month since it will help reduce swelling after the procedure. Once the soreness and pain decrease, it's frequently more comfortable to wear spandex or lycra exercise pants. Initial discomfort from the liposuction surgery will be easily controlled through the use of oral medication. Swelling and bruising will typically subside in two to four weeks with final results taking shape over two to three months.

A Safer Removal Of Fat Is Allowed By UAL Performed By A Cosmetic Surgeon

The use of UAL by plastic surgeons allows for a safer removal of larger amounts of fat than that of a standard liposuction procedure. The increase in safety is due to the smaller amount of blood removed with UAL. This means that UAL procedures can be very useful to someone who is moderately overweight even though it is not a weight loss procedure. Ultrasound assisted liposuction is intended to improve both the contour of one's body and the proportions, resulting in a more flattering physique or figure.

Liposuction Is For You If You Have Fatty Areas That Don't Respond To Exercise Or Diet

Liposuction may be a great option for you if you have fatty areas that do not respond to diet or exercise. Liposuction is not a cellulite treatment or weight-loss procedure and those who are in good shape yet struggle with "problem" areas are the best candidates. The procedure slims and contours different areas of the body by removing the excess fat. The liposuction procedure doesn't treat sagging or loose skin. In some cases, liposuction is performed alone, in other cases it is used with procedures such as a breast reduction/lift or a tummy tuck, which can reduce sagging skin. According to Tacoma plastic surgeon, Dr. Nichols, when combined with other procedures, liposuction can be one of the procedures in a Mommy Makeover.

A Word About Abdominoplasty in Lindon, UT

Abdominoplasty in Utah - A tummy tuck operation involves making an incision that falls along the natural creases of the lower abdomen, usually correlating with the bikini line. The skin is then lifted away from the abdomen, creating a flap. Depending on the patient's unique situation, the navel may be moved, fat may be suctioned away, and excess skin is excised, or cut away. Scarring is minimized as much as possible by the incision's being located in a natural crease, and by the application of vitamins and adhesives, but a scar is to be expected whenever there is an incision.

Utah cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Kimball Crofts, reminds patients that planned future pregnancies and certain medical conditions can make an abdominoplasty unsafe. The best way to know for sure if you are a good candidate for this procedure is in a personal consultation with your plastic surgeon.

For Many Patients Who Have Lost A Large Amount Of Weight, There's No Exercise Or Diet That Can Restore Their Former Contour

Most of the candidates for an arm lift are those who have lost a lot of weight following a Bariatric procedure, also referred to as "lap banding" or "stomach stapling." According to the website of an Atlanta plastic surgeon, even though these patients will be able to reap many psychological and health related benefits from this weight loss surgery, one of the after effects is sagging skin that hangs down from areas of the body such as the arms. Because the skin has lost its elasticity following years of obesity, no amount of diet or exercise can restore firmness and tone to the arms.

Tummy Tuck Los Angeles

Los Angeles liposuction - If there has ever been more of you around the middle than you wanted there to be, you have probably harbored thoughts of having some of that "extra you" suctioned out. The best way to shed weight is through diet and exercise, but there are areas that just don't get the hint. Liposuction is an elective procedure that allows the plastic surgeon to remove undesirable, subcutaneous fat from areas like the hips, thighs, abdomen, knees, ankles, face and neck.

Los Angeles tummy tuck - Not all of the extraneous flesh is fat, however, and over time our skin becomes less and less willing to shrink to fit. Weakened muscles in the abdominal wall add to the problem. This is where abdominoplasty comes in. Commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, this procedure is designed to correct a protruding stomach by tightening stomach muscles and cutting away the excess skin. Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Marc Mani, offers these and other body contouring techniques. A one-on-one consultation can help you decide which, if any, is right for you.

Liposuction Creates Proportion and Balance

The most commonly suctioned areas are the neck (underneath the chin), tummy, waist, love handles, hips, saddle bags, inner thighs, knees, and, infrequently, the ankles. During the procedure you are completely awake, allowing you to lie down and stand up. Everyone is aware that their body appears differently when they are standing vs. lying, and by having you stand your surgeon can more accurately sculpt your body's proportions. Pre-operative valium will help minimize any anxiety and discomfort you may feel. A special tumescent solution will be injected. This will numb the area as well as put fluid around the fat cells so they are more easily removed.

Facelift Information

The neck lift procedure is designed for people who have excess fat around the neck, but have good skin tone and are not yet ready for a full face-neck lift. This operation includes liposuction of the neck, manual removal of fat underneath the muscles and tightening of the neck muscles under the chin. Excess skin cannot be removed with this procedure. If excess skin is the problem then a full face-neck lift should be done.

A one inch incision is placed just under the chin, and the skin is elevated off of the fat and muscle. A 3mm cushion of fat is left on the skin, and then liposuction is used to remove all of the remaining fat down to the muscle. De-fatting the neck is also done by manually removing fat from underneath the platysma muscle. Once the fat is removed, the muscles are tightened and any neck cords are released.

The incision is then closed with 3-4 sutures. Drains are also used to remove any excess fluid or blood and are removed in 1 or 2 days after the surgery.

Are There Different Liposuction Techniques?

Though the basics of liposuction remain the same, there are different techniques that can be used during liposuction. "Tumescent Liposuction" During this technique the plastic surgeon will inject a medicated solution into the fatty areas before the fat is removed. The solution is a mixture of intravenous salt water, a local anesthetic (lidocaine) and a drug that contracts the blood vessels (epinephrine). This fluid injection helps the fat to be removed more easily, reduces blood loss and bruising after surgery, and provides anesthesia during and after the surgery. The amount of fluid injected varies and depends on the preference of the surgeon. "Ultrasound-Assisted Lipoplasty (UAL) This technique requires the use of a special cannula that produces ultrasonic energy. As the ultrasonic energy passes through the areas of fat it causes the fat cells to liquefy. The fat is then removed with the traditional liposuction technique. Because the fat is liquid at the time that it is removed, UAL is smoother and mechanically more efficient. UAL also minimizes trauma, resulting in less bruising and blood loss and especially improves the ease and effectiveness of liposuction in fibrous areas of the body. More information about liposuction.

Liposuction is One of Today's Most Popular Plastic Surgery Procedures

One of the most popular procedures today, liposuction is designed to eliminate fatty deposits in various areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks or neck. This is not a weight loss procedure but rather a sculpting of areas that are refractory to dieting and exercise. During the tumescent liposuction procedure, fluid is injected into the tissue to improve the efficiency of fat removal and to decrease the blood loss. Then, a cannula connected to a vacuum pump is inserted through a small 1/4” incision in a normal skin fold, and the area is suctioned. Today, advanced techniques using ultrasonic and power assisted cannulas have enhanced results. This body contouring procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis, and the patient can resume normal activities within a week's time, but must refrain from exercising and sports for three weeks postoperatively.

Remove Localized Fat Deposits with Liposuction

Liposuction can remove localized fat deposits from almost any area of the body. Many plastic surgeons use an "ultrasonic" technique, during which sound waves liquefy fat cells before liposuction begins. This allows the elimination of more tissue, especially in difficult to treat areas such as "love handles" and the upper abdomen. Ultrasound breaks up fibrous tissue in the fat, and gives smoother results than with other types of liposuction.
By injecting saline, anesthetic solution and epinephrine during liposuction ("tumescent" liposuction), bruising is minimized. Incisions for liposuction are small and easily hidden.

Liposuction: The Procedure

Many plastic surgeons use a "tumescent technique." After the induction of general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, a large volume, up to several quarts, of very dilute local anesthetic is injected into the areas to be treated. There is a tiny dose of adrenaline in the fluid as well, which makes the blood vessels in the area clamp down. This prevents perhaps 95% of the blood loss that would otherwise occur during liposuction.
Thin hollow stainless steel tubes are placed through short (perhaps 1/4") incisions in the area treated and are used to suction away the appropriate amount of fat. Sheets of lightweight foam are placed on the treated areas, and a compression garment, like a corset, is placed. Bruising is usually scant.

Get Rid of Stubborn Fat with Liposuction

While plastic surgeons encourage approaching liposuction from a state of good health, diet and exercise, they can effectively remove stubborn areas of fat that won't respond in any other way. Through a very tiny incision, which can be concealed, a plastic surgeon will place a tube deep beneath the skin. With a combination of ultrasound energy and suction, a plastic surgeon can remove and sculpt fatty layers. The liposuction they perform is usually circumferential which will tailor the area front to back and avoid any irregularities. Afterwards a compression garment or girdle will help control swelling and provide comfort while the skin shrinks and the bruising resolves.

Necklift surgery in Seattle or Bellevue

The neck lift procedure is designed for people who have excess fat around the neck, but have good skin tone and are not yet ready for a full face-neck lift. This operation includes liposuction of the neck, manual removal of fat underneath the muscles and tightening of the neck muscles under the chin. Excess skin cannot be removed with this procedure. If excess skin is the problem then a full face-neck lift should be done.

What can Liposuction do for You?

A liposuction can help individuals restore a thinner and fitter looking contour to their bodies. The specified portion of the body is made smaller to better match the shape of the patient. Plastic Surgeons accomplish this by removing excess fat through a vacuuming procedure. This not only helps to restore the physical appearance of the patient, but also restores self-confidence and respect to the patient.

Get rid of excess weight from your thighs!

The thighs tend to be an area of the body that is often overlooked but one that can greatly benefit from Plastic Surgery. The thighs can be affected by both redundant skin and an over-accumulation of fatty deposits. There are many reasons why the thighs undergo these changes. The thighs are one area of the body that is particularly prone to fat build-up and deterioration in skin quality. During the aging process, the skin loses elasticity, retaining ligaments stretch and gravity takes its toll. Thigh skin is especially prone to these changes as it is naturally thinner than skin found elsewhere in the body. Weight gain also plays a roll in this process as the added skin tension further stretches and thins the skin. The problem can become quite noticeable with significant weight loss. Sun exposure and cigarette smoking can also be major contributors to the problem. A Thigh Lift could be the solution.

The Ideal Patient for Liposuction

Liposculpture, most commonly referred to as liposuction, is a surgical procedure that is highly effective for removing unwanted fat in a specific body area. The ideal patient is one who has hereditary fat accumulations that are diet and exercise resistant. These are most commonly found in the abdomen, hips, inner and outer thighs, inner knees, upper arms, neck and cheek areas.

Liposuction Eliminates Hard To Get Rid Of Fat

Liposuction (lipoplasty) is particularly well-suited for women and men who are of relatively normal weight but have isolated pockets of fat that cause certain areas of their body to appear disproportionate. These localized fat deposits may sometimes be an inherited trait and typically do not respond to dieting or exercise. Liposuction is often the only way to eliminate them.

Procedures of the Body: Liposuction

Liposuction can remove localized fat deposits from almost any area of the body. Board Certified Plastic Surgeons use an "ultrasonic" technique, during which sound waves liquefy fat cells before liposuction begins. This allows the elimination of more tissue, especially in difficult to treat areas such as "love handles" and the upper abdomen. Ultrasound breaks up fibrous tissue in the fat, and gives smoother results than with other types of liposuction.

Are You a Candidate for Liposuction?

You may be a candidate for liposuction if you have excess subcutaneous fat, which is resistant to diet and exercise. Liposuction may also be desirable if you wish to change the contours of your body. Commonly involved areas are the anterior part of the neck (under the chin), upper arms and armpits, male chest/breasts, trunk, abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, inner knees, calves, and ankles. Most patients are near normal weight and desire permanent contour changes. For the best liposuction services consult a board certified plastic surgeon.

Liposuction is a great way to get rid of unwanted fat. Let's discuss the pros and cons of liposuction.
