Detroit - Breast Reconstruction has Unique Benefits

Detroit breast reconstruction - According to an estimate from the American Cancer Society, just under 200,000 women would be diagnosed in 2009 with breast cancer in the United States. They also predicted that a little over 40,000 would die. Faced with such a merciless adversary, doctors often must remove the cancerous organ completely, or watch the disease spread. Women who must have a mastectomy, however, are presented with a plethora of potential physical and emotional woes above and beyond the cancer. The breast may seem merely decorative from a certain point of view, but can represent a core aspect of a woman's sense of femininity, and even to her sense of self. Such a loss is no small matter.

To simply call the decision to have breast reconstruction personal would be a colossal understatement. A reconstructed breast will not look or feel exactly like the breast it replaces, and there are potential complications which are not to be taken lightly. Breast restoration surgery can make a significant positive impact on the patient's quality of life, however, and a 2008 study released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons even found that 98% of women chose breast reconstruction would do so again. Dr. Mohamad H. Bazzi is a board certified Detroit plastic surgeon providing breast surgery and a full range of cosmetic procedures.

Male Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, CA

Los Angeles breast surgery is not just about women seeking better proportions to their figure. While it's true that Male Plastic Surgery doctors like Los Angeles plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven Teitelbaum, do provide a full range of breast surgery to women, increasing, decreasing, lifting and more, there is also breast reduction for men to consider.

Defined by Mirriam-Webster Online as "excessive development of the breast in the male," gynecomastia is actually quite normal. Statistically, in fact, a man is much more likely to develop gynecomastia than not. Frequently it resolves itself, but when "man-boobs" don't go away on their own, they still need not be permanent. Just as Dr. Teitelbaum treats women who are dissatisfied with their breasts, gynecomastia is quite treatable. Men might not think of themselves as likely candidates for plastic surgery, but male plastic surgery isn't limited to moobs. While you see Dr. Teitelbaum as your gynecomastia surgeon, there may be additional procedures from which you might benefit.

Cohesive Gel - Breast Implants in Santa Monica, CA

Santa Monica Cohesive Implant - Silicone gel already enjoys some popularity as a breast implant filler. Although silicone gel implants cannot be Santa Monica Breast Enlargement filled after insertion and so may require a larger incision than a comparable saline implant, its consistency gives it a more natural feel than saline. The concerns of the early '90s, which centered around potential health risks supposedly linked to leaking silicone have effectively been put to rest, and the FDA bestowed their approval upon silicone implants in 2006. Now, the next generation of silicone gel implants are in clinical trials.

These "Gummy Bear" implants are already widely popular in Europe. They are more form stable than either saline implants or conventional silicone implants, so they lend themselves well to a more tapered shape. This better resembles a natural breast contour. The nature of the silicone also renders them relatively leak-free.

These natural-feeling and -looking implants are only available in the United States through surgeons participating in the clinical trials. Santa Monica plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Teitelbaum is one of these few surgeons, and "the only surgeon in the state of California who was asked to participate in the clinical trials of all three cohesive implant manufacturers."

Abdominoplasty to Smooth Your Tummy in Carson City, Nevada

Tummy Tuck in Carson City - If you've been tossing around the Breast Lift with Implants Lake Tahoe notion of seeking out a plastic surgeon, you've probably already got a "problem area" or two in mind that you want addressed. Perhaps you have finally lost those irritating "extra" pounds and just can't bring yourself to celebrate because, instead of shrinking with the rest of you, the skin around your middle felt it would be more fun to sag down like a deflated balloon.

As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and so is less willing to shrink down with the rest of the body once it's been stretched. A tummy tuck procedure is one option for dealing with this. By excising loose, over-hanging skin and tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall, a plastic surgeon can put the finishing touches on your hard work. A lot depends on your current physiology and future plans. Details like this are what makes the consultation with your surgeon so critical.

Dr. Kent Gabriel, a board certified plastic surgeon who also offers cosmetic surgery in Reno, describes his consultations as "lengthy and informative." By taking "as much time as a patient needs to discuss their situation," Dr. Gabriel hopes that whether or not a patient goes forward with their surgery with him, they will leave the consult with greater understanding.

Augmentation with Breast Implants in Canton, Michigan

Michigan Breast Augmentation - Whenever I think back to the silicone gel-filled breast implant Breast Implants Michigan scare of the early nineties, it reminds me of a cartoon showing a woman with a tiny chest and bare-but-bell-bottomed legs glaring at a scientist, implying that the filler from her implants had not only leaked but filtered down through her body to slosh around her ankles. Of course, silicone gel is more likely to remain in the shell or the implant pocket. In fact it may be difficult even to detect a leak in a silicone implant without an ultrasound or MRI scan.

A lot has been learned over the almost two decades since the FDA withdrew its approval of silicone breast implants (which approval was restored in 2006; silicone breast implants are currently available for augmentation in women 22 years and older). So many of the facts about breast implants are only applicable on a personal basis, based on the physiology of the individual patient, which makes your doctor consultation so important. Dr. Bazzi is a board certified Michigan plastic surgeon who can provide you the personalized information you need.

Not all Los Angeles breast surgery is performed on women. Most men will develop gynecomastia for a multitude of reasons, Beverly Hills Gynecomastia which, at its root, is just an abnormal enlargement of one or both of the breast areas on a man's chest. Following A Liposuction Procedure, Most Patients Have Very Little Pain

Before you receive a liposuction procedure, your plastic surgeon will carefully outline the areas of bulging fat that are to be suctioned. He or she will then draw detailed contour lines in order to further define the contour and shape characteristics of the deposits of fat. Plastic surgeons will use the "tumescent technique" in which a large amount of fluid will be initially placed to swell the area. This technique will allow for fat to be removed in a very smooth, safe, and symmetrical manner. The fluid is able to help loosen the fat while providing a local anesthesia for operative and immediate post-operative discomfort. It will also be able to provide epinephrine which is capable of decreasing bleeding.

A Plastic Surgeon Can Tighten Any Area Of Your Body With Body Contouring Procedures

A body lift procedure is very similar to a face lift. The only difference is that it involves the center of the body. A body lift, specifically is the surgical contouring of the abdomen, thighs, arms, and breasts in order to remove hanging, excess skin. The plastic surgery procedure itself is created for people that have lost a large amount of weight either through exercise and dieting or through gastric bypass surgery. A significant loss of weight will often leave people with excessive, saggy, and unsightly skin that does not conform to their new, thinner figures. Another type of person who is a candidate for a body lift may be those who have sagging, excessive skin as a result of pregnancy or the normal aging process. As people age, their skin stops producing collagen, proteins, and elastin that are needed to keep skin toned and tight.

Prior To Your Tummy Tuck, Your Cosmetic Surgeon Will Explain The Risks Associated With The Procedure

A tummy tuck, technically referred to as an abdominoplasty, is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures available. A tummy tuck is capable of removing excess fat and skin and may also tighten the abdominal muscles to create a tight, smooth, better contoured waistline. Most of the time, the surgery can also restore weakened or separated muscles. A good candidate for a tummy tuck will have excess or loose skin due to pregnancy, weight loss, or loss of skin elasticity from aging or stretch marks. The procedure will often be combined with lipoplasty to the love handle areas providing a better contour to the whole waistline. Also, it is commonly performed along with a breast augmentation procedure and liposuction. These three procedures performed together is often referred to as the "Mommy Makeover." Your decision to have an abdominoplasty performed is extremely personal and you will have to decide if the benefits of surgery will achieve your goals and if the potential complications and risks are acceptable.

A Compression Garment Will Be Recommended By Your Plastic Surgeon After Lipoplasty

After liposuction surgery, the patient will be able to go home with a compression garment that covers the areas that have been treated. Compression of the areas where liposuction has been performed is recommended for about a month since it will help reduce swelling after the procedure. Once the soreness and pain decrease, it's frequently more comfortable to wear spandex or lycra exercise pants. Initial discomfort from the liposuction surgery will be easily controlled through the use of oral medication. Swelling and bruising will typically subside in two to four weeks with final results taking shape over two to three months.

A Safer Removal Of Fat Is Allowed By UAL Performed By A Cosmetic Surgeon

The use of UAL by plastic surgeons allows for a safer removal of larger amounts of fat than that of a standard liposuction procedure. The increase in safety is due to the smaller amount of blood removed with UAL. This means that UAL procedures can be very useful to someone who is moderately overweight even though it is not a weight loss procedure. Ultrasound assisted liposuction is intended to improve both the contour of one's body and the proportions, resulting in a more flattering physique or figure.

Breast Revision Plastic Surgeon in Utah

Breast Revision Utah - Breast implants can return breast volume lost to time and gravity, create the figure nature never provided, Breast Enlargement Utahcorrect differences of symmetry, and even restore breasts lost to illness or injury. Any surgical procedure can go awry, however, and though complications are relatively rare for breast implant surgery, they can happen. When a previous breast augmentation creates a cosmetic problem or poses a health risk, a revision procedure usually involving removal or replacement of the implant is called for. Some of the most common complications to breast enlargement are capsular contracture, nipple sensitivity (or the loss thereof), rippling, and rupture.

Of course, complications are not the only reason for revision surgery. Most implants are only designed to last 10 years, and many women find, after their surgery, that they simply wish they had gotten larger implants. For more on Utah plastic surgery, see Dr. Joseph Berg.

Liposuction Is For You If You Have Fatty Areas That Don't Respond To Exercise Or Diet

Liposuction may be a great option for you if you have fatty areas that do not respond to diet or exercise. Liposuction is not a cellulite treatment or weight-loss procedure and those who are in good shape yet struggle with "problem" areas are the best candidates. The procedure slims and contours different areas of the body by removing the excess fat. The liposuction procedure doesn't treat sagging or loose skin. In some cases, liposuction is performed alone, in other cases it is used with procedures such as a breast reduction/lift or a tummy tuck, which can reduce sagging skin. According to Tacoma plastic surgeon, Dr. Nichols, when combined with other procedures, liposuction can be one of the procedures in a Mommy Makeover.

For Those Who Have Subtle Excess Skin And Fat A Mini Tummy Tuck May Be The Answer

Los Angeles plastic surgeons perform mini tummy tuck procedures on patients who demonstrate subtle excess skin and fat in their lower abdominal regions. It can also be performed to remove previous surgical scars (such as a C-section). The scars are often much smaller than the traditional abdominoplasty or tummy tuck scar, and are well concealed within the bikini line. Along with this, the muscles on their abdomen are able to be tightened to improve the bulge on their lower abdomen. Only a small percentage of patients are good candidates for the mini tummy tuck procedure.

A Word About Abdominoplasty in Lindon, UT

Abdominoplasty in Utah - A tummy tuck operation involves making an incision that falls along the natural creases of the lower abdomen, usually correlating with the bikini line. The skin is then lifted away from the abdomen, creating a flap. Depending on the patient's unique situation, the navel may be moved, fat may be suctioned away, and excess skin is excised, or cut away. Scarring is minimized as much as possible by the incision's being located in a natural crease, and by the application of vitamins and adhesives, but a scar is to be expected whenever there is an incision.

Utah cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Kimball Crofts, reminds patients that planned future pregnancies and certain medical conditions can make an abdominoplasty unsafe. The best way to know for sure if you are a good candidate for this procedure is in a personal consultation with your plastic surgeon.

For Many Patients Who Have Lost A Large Amount Of Weight, There's No Exercise Or Diet That Can Restore Their Former Contour

Most of the candidates for an arm lift are those who have lost a lot of weight following a Bariatric procedure, also referred to as "lap banding" or "stomach stapling." According to the website of an Atlanta plastic surgeon, even though these patients will be able to reap many psychological and health related benefits from this weight loss surgery, one of the after effects is sagging skin that hangs down from areas of the body such as the arms. Because the skin has lost its elasticity following years of obesity, no amount of diet or exercise can restore firmness and tone to the arms.

Dallas Plastic Surgery Breast Enlargement

Don’t deceive yourself. Nothing in this life is perfect; nothing is without trade-offs. Breast enhancement surgery is no different. You can’t choose a set of options for breast enhancement that doesn’t come with a package of trade-offs. Trade-offs are compromises that you accept...

Body Contouring can Return a Part of You That Has Faded

Liposuction is one of the most frequently performed procedures. Localized fat pockets, resistant to exercise and diet, can be eliminated. The areas of the body of such accumulated fat pockets often include the hips, thighs, abdomen, neck , arms, and breasts. The best candidates are near normal weight people with elastic skin who desire an improved contour change. This procedure is usually performed under general or local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. The incisions are placed in specific areas to provide the optimal contouring and aesthetic result. A fitted compression garment will be worn for about 3 to 4 weeks. Activity may be resumed in about 3 weeks and the final results will be apparent in about 3 months.

Post Arm Lift Care

After arm lift surgery or upper arm liposuction you will be required to wear a compressive garment which is much like a very tight shirt. The length of time for which the garment is worn varies with surgeon preference and extent of surgery, and averages 2 to 4 weeks. You may return to work within 2 to 3 days, again depending on the extent of your surgery.

Perform Other Plastic Surgery Procedrues at the Same Time as a Tummy Tuck

Patients often have multiple procedures at the same time. The most common include breast augmentation, breast lifts, tummy tuck, and/or liposuction. This saves both time and money since costs are often reduced when multiple procedures are combined. Additional procedures would also include facial cosmetic surgery or those related to weight loss such as thigh or buttock lifts.

Liposuction is Able to Help Overweight Patients in Many Ways

Although all plastic surgeons recommend that you be at your ideal weight, overweight patients who are unable to reach their goals can greatly benefit as well. Many have been inspired to continue to lose weight after treatment. With liposculpture, saddlebags can disappear, hips and legs become thinner, stomachs flatten and double chins can literally melt away.

Liposuction Creates Proportion and Balance

The most commonly suctioned areas are the neck (underneath the chin), tummy, waist, love handles, hips, saddle bags, inner thighs, knees, and, infrequently, the ankles. During the procedure you are completely awake, allowing you to lie down and stand up. Everyone is aware that their body appears differently when they are standing vs. lying, and by having you stand your surgeon can more accurately sculpt your body's proportions. Pre-operative valium will help minimize any anxiety and discomfort you may feel. A special tumescent solution will be injected. This will numb the area as well as put fluid around the fat cells so they are more easily removed.

Male Breast Reduction Restores a Feeling of Masculinity

Like starting to shave, the lowering of one’s voice, or developing an Adam’s Apple, a flat and strong looking chest is seen as a sign of masculinity. It is humiliating to have a chest that looks even the slightest bit feminine. Many women seek breast augmentation because they say, “I look like a boy and just want to feel feminine.” And though men never make the opposite statement – probably because the words are too hard to say – it is probably in the back of their minds. As shy as some flat-chested women are about men seeing their chest naked, they tend not to have the same level of shame or humiliation as do men with gynecomastia. It is very common that even men with the mildest forms of gynecomastia never want to take their shirt off, wear loose clothes over a tight undershirt, and spend time in front of a mirror pushing their chest back to make it look flatter.

The Solution to Saggy Thighs is a Thigh Lift

The skin does not always fully conform to the body’s new shape following significant weight loss. The skin may lose elasticity and begin to sag. One of the areas of the body most affected by this problem is the thigh area.
Thanks to thigh lift surgery, a highly effective cosmetic surgical procedure that removes excess fat and skin from the thighs, a solution is available. A thigh lift can dramatically improve the thigh area, as well as enhance the overall appearance of the figure. After working hard to lose a significant amount of weight, developing a secondary problem such as excess, sagging skin can be very frustrating.

The Risks of Male Breast Reduction

When male breast-reduction surgery is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, complications are infrequent and usually minor. Nevertheless, as with any surgery, there are risks. These include infection, skin injury, excessive bleeding, adverse reaction to anesthesia, and excessive fluid loss or accumulation. The procedure may also result in noticeable scars, permanent pigment changes in the breast area, or slightly mismatched breasts or nipples. If asymmetry is significant, a second procedure may be performed to remove additional tissue.
The temporary effects of breast reduction include loss of breast sensation or numbness, which may last up to a year.

The Best Candidate For A Tummy Tuck

The best candidates for abdominoplasty are men or women who are in relatively good shape but are bothered by a large fat deposit or loose abdominal skin that won't respond to diet or exercise. The surgery is particularly helpful to women who, through multiple pregnancies, have stretched their abdominal muscles and skin beyond the point where they can return to normal. Loss of skin elasticity in older patients, which frequently occurs with slight obesity, can also be improved.
Patients who intend to lose a lot of weight should postpone the tummy tuck surgery. Also, women who plan future pregnancies should wait, as vertical muscles in the abdomen that are tightened during surgery can separate again during pregnancy.

Calf Implants Cosmetically Enhance One's Body

Many men and women are dissatisfied with the size and shape of their calves. Calf augmentation, or calf implants, is a surgical procedure that uses soft, solid silicone implants to increase the size and enhance the shape of the calves. Reasons for calf augmentation are varied and include cosmetic enhancement and reconstructive necessity. Men and women body builders often use calf augmentation to enhance the fullness, shape and bulk of the calf muscles when exercise falls short on further development. Others choose calf implants to improve proportions, definitions and curves of the lower legs for simple muscular enhancement or to correct the appearance of thin and/or bowed legs. Calf implants can also be used to correct asymmetry in calf muscles from trauma or genetic birth deformities such as in polio, spina bifida and clubfoot.

Liposuction is One of Today's Most Popular Plastic Surgery Procedures

One of the most popular procedures today, liposuction is designed to eliminate fatty deposits in various areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks or neck. This is not a weight loss procedure but rather a sculpting of areas that are refractory to dieting and exercise. During the tumescent liposuction procedure, fluid is injected into the tissue to improve the efficiency of fat removal and to decrease the blood loss. Then, a cannula connected to a vacuum pump is inserted through a small 1/4” incision in a normal skin fold, and the area is suctioned. Today, advanced techniques using ultrasonic and power assisted cannulas have enhanced results. This body contouring procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis, and the patient can resume normal activities within a week's time, but must refrain from exercising and sports for three weeks postoperatively.

Be sure to inform your surgeon if you have any allergies; if you're taking any vitamins, medications (prescription or over-the-counter), or other drugs; and if you smoke.
You and your surgeon should carefully discuss your goals and expectations for this surgery. You'll need to discuss whether to do all four eyelids or just the upper or lower ones, whether skin as well as fat will be removed, and whether any additional procedures are appropriate.

The first consultation allows you to meet with your plastic surgeon and staff to discuss your needs and concerns. You will learn about your surgery, the risks and complications, recovery time and look at before and after pictures. Your discussion with him or her covers all aspects of the surgery and you will discuss with him or her your expectations of the surgery. Your plastic surgeon will be able to examine your body and talk about the procedures necessary to meet your expectations.
During the consultation, you will be asked about the results you would like to achieve from abdominoplasty. This will help your surgeon to understand your expectations and determine whether they realistically can be achieved. He or she will individualize your treatment plan with you and discuss with you what type of abdominoplasty will give you your best results (ie. mini-abdominoplasty vs. full abdominoplasty vs. extended abdominoplasty).
You will have before pictures taken, which allows the physician to plan your surgery and also allows computer imaging to be done and viewed at a later date. After meeting with your surgeon you will have the opportunity to meet with the nurse and review pre-operative and post-operative care necessary for the surgery. You plastic surgeon's assistant will discuss fees and schedule your surgery at a time convenient to both schedules.

A Thigh Lift is the Answer if You Want to Firm and Tighten Your Thighs

The thighs tend to be an area of the body that is often overlooked but one that can greatly benefit from plastic surgery. The thighs can be affected by both redundant skin and an over-accumulation of fatty deposits. There are many reasons why the thighs undergo these changes. The thighs are one area of the body that is particularly prone to fat build-up and deterioration in skin quality. During the aging process, the skin loses elasticity, retaining ligaments stretch and gravity takes its toll. Thigh skin is especially prone to these changes as it is naturally thinner than skin found elsewhere in the body. Weight gain also plays a roll in this process as the added skin tension further stretches and thins the skin. The problem can become quite noticeable with significant weight loss. Sun exposure and cigarette smoking can also be major contributors to the problem. Cosmetic surgery can offer a real opportunity to correct these issues and achieve a firmer, more youthful look. A thigh lift, liposuction or both, may be just the answer.

The Difference Between a Full and Mini-Tummy Tuck

During abdominoplasty, the plastic surgeon makes an incision that extends from hip to hip along the lower pubic area. A skilled plastic surgeon makes this incision so that the resulting scar is hidden under a bathing suit or by undergarments. The plastic surgeon then lifts the loose skin off of the abdominal wall, and tightens and repairs the loosened "rectus" muscles – the muscles that normally give the abdomen its strength – achieving the effect that an old-fashioned girdle would.
During Mini-Abdominoplasty, the plastic surgeon makes an incision that generally spans only the width of the pubic area, and that is similar to a C-section incision. In both procedures, patients with excessive fat in the hips and flanks may have liposuction in these areas to contour them, but not in the areas of the abdomen that are being stretched because this could cause damage to the blood circulation in those areas, leading to scarring or even skin loss. The result of a tummy tuck is an abdomen that is tight and flat, a waist that is narrow and curvy and thighs and buttocks that are firmer.

Arm Lift Surgery is Becoming Increasingly Popular

Brachioplasty, also known as arm lift or arm tuck, is a plastic surgery procedure designed to remove redundant, flabby, and sagging skin folds of the upper arms. Hanging arm skin folds are not only unsightly, but also interfere with one’s ability to fit in sleeved tops, as well as causing underarm skin rash and irritation.
Brachioplasty can now offer patients the freedom of a lifestyle that they couldn't enjoy previously. In fact, the popularity of arm lift surgery has soared to a point that according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the number of Brachioplasty surgeries has tripled since 1997, with nearly 15,000 procedures being performed in 2005. Arm lift surgery is not exclusive to women. Actually, many men also undergo brachioplasty.

Male breast reduction is a plastic surgery procedure where the reduction of breast volume can many times be accomplished with ultrasound assisted liposuction. In some cases, a small incision may need to be made in order to remove tissue directly. In rare cases, skin may be removed from around the areola.
Initial recovery time for gynecomastia is from 7 to 10 days. The complete recovery time is from 4 to 6 weeks. This means no heavy exercise such as lifting weights, vigorous workouts at the gym, or any other strenuous activity. It may take at least 6 months to a year for the final results.

Tummy Tuck Surgery Gets Rid of Your Protruding Belly

Abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, removes loose hanging abdominal skin and tightens weakened abdominal wall muscles. Because even diligent diet and exercise cannot fix these problems, each year more than 80,000 American women and men undergo tummy tuck surgery. Women and men who have a protruding belly, loose hanging abdominal skin and weak abdominal muscles are candidates for a full tummy tuck.
Mini-abdominoplasty, also known as a mini-tummy tuck, is reserved for those who have only a limited amount of loose skin or stretch marks in the lower abdomen, or above the public bone. Also, Mini tummy tuck does not usually involve the tightening of abdominal muscles. Therefore, it is sometimes combined with liposuction for patients with excessive fat, but limited looseness of the abdomen.

Remove Localized Fat Deposits with Liposuction

Liposuction can remove localized fat deposits from almost any area of the body. Many plastic surgeons use an "ultrasonic" technique, during which sound waves liquefy fat cells before liposuction begins. This allows the elimination of more tissue, especially in difficult to treat areas such as "love handles" and the upper abdomen. Ultrasound breaks up fibrous tissue in the fat, and gives smoother results than with other types of liposuction.
By injecting saline, anesthetic solution and epinephrine during liposuction ("tumescent" liposuction), bruising is minimized. Incisions for liposuction are small and easily hidden.

A Tummy Tuck may be the Answer to Your Problems

A tummy tuck is performed by first carefully marking the patient while they are standing. Careful pre-operative marking is essential to guiding the surgery to success. The procedure begins just above the pubis, by lifting the skin off the muscle from the pubic bone up to the bottom of the ribs. This releases the skin to allow the lower abdominal excess to be removed and the upper abdominal skin to be stretched downward to fill in the space from where the skin is removed. It also allows the surgeon to easily visualize the stretched out, thinned or separated muscles and to tighten them. Although the procedure does require an incision, many plastic surgeons' experience and intimate understanding of the patient’s anatomy and body contours will allow the scar to be well hidden in a bikini bathing suit or even skimpy underwear. Like all procedures, Abdominoplasty does carry risks, including the risk of infection, bleeding and the risk from anesthetics. It is important to note that under the care of a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, great care will be taken to avoid or minimize these risks.

Remove Redundant, Flabby, and Sagging Skin Folds of the Upper Arms

Arm lift (also known as brachioplasty) is a procedure designed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arm. The goal of the surgery is to obtain a more toned, defined arm.
Liposuction may be used in conjunction with brachioplasty to further enhance results. Incisions are usually made on the inside of the arm in an inconspicuous area. Depending on the extent of the surgery, some arm lift procedures can be accomplished by making a small incision in the armpit area. Most people can return to work one to two weeks following arm lift surgery with minimal restrictions.

Liposuction: The Procedure

Many plastic surgeons use a "tumescent technique." After the induction of general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, a large volume, up to several quarts, of very dilute local anesthetic is injected into the areas to be treated. There is a tiny dose of adrenaline in the fluid as well, which makes the blood vessels in the area clamp down. This prevents perhaps 95% of the blood loss that would otherwise occur during liposuction.
Thin hollow stainless steel tubes are placed through short (perhaps 1/4") incisions in the area treated and are used to suction away the appropriate amount of fat. Sheets of lightweight foam are placed on the treated areas, and a compression garment, like a corset, is placed. Bruising is usually scant.

Male Breast Reduction Restores Confidence in Men

Some men have deposits of excess breast tissue and fat in their breasts, giving them a female form. While sometimes related to medicines or a hormonal imbalance, these inciting causes are not often found to be a factor. Most cases are a matter of bad luck.

Correction of this problem known as gynecomastia is usually able to be accomplished with liposuction. In rare cases, there is so much extra skin that this must be reduced as well as the internal deposits.

This is an outpatient procedure performed at our own state of the art outpatient surgery center, requiring only 2-3 days of recovery time.

Through a very tiny incision, which can be concealed, a plastic surgeon will place a tube deep beneath the skin. With a combination of ultrasound energy and suction, a plastic surgeon can remove and sculpt fatty layers. The liposuction they perform is usually circumferential which will tailor the area front to back and avoid any irregularities. Afterwards a compression garment or girdle will help control swelling and provide comfort while the skin shrinks and the bruising resolves.

Plastic Surgeons accomplish this by removing excess fat through a vacuuming procedure. This not only helps to restore the physical appearance of the patient, but also restores self-confidence and respect to the patient.

Tighten the Skin on your Arms with a Brachioplasty

The arm lift procedure or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm. With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. The goal with brachioplasty is to tighten the skin and remove the excess fat tissue. In some cases your plastic surgeon may suggest that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with an arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms. Sometimes the skin of the hand is also tightened or resurfaced with IPL.

Reasons to Receive Calf Implants

Reasons for calf augmentation are varfied and include cosmetic enhancement and reconstructive necessity.

Liposuction Eliminates Hard To Get Rid Of Fat

Liposuction (lipoplasty) is particularly well-suited for women and men who are of relatively normal weight but have isolated pockets of fat that cause certain areas of their body to appear disproportionate. These localized fat deposits may sometimes be an inherited trait and typically do not respond to dieting or exercise. Liposuction is often the only way to eliminate them.

Procedures of the Body: Liposuction

Liposuction can remove localized fat deposits from almost any area of the body. Board Certified Plastic Surgeons use an "ultrasonic" technique, during which sound waves liquefy fat cells before liposuction begins. This allows the elimination of more tissue, especially in difficult to treat areas such as "love handles" and the upper abdomen. Ultrasound breaks up fibrous tissue in the fat, and gives smoother results than with other types of liposuction.
